Reclaimed wood furnitures are becoming more and more popular
- Jul 30, 2018-
Reclaimed wood has become extremely popular over the past few years, in everything from furniture and decor to flooring, cabinetry and accent walls. Of course, reclaimed wood is nothing new. Wood is durable and repurposing it has been around since people started cutting down trees. While it may be hot and trendy right now, I don’t see any reason for reclaimed wood to ever completely go away.
Here are three reasons why:
Repurposing and recycling will never go out of style. More than ever people are aware of how important it is to take care of the Earth, and reclaimed wood is an ecologically responsible styling choice that helps preserve our dwindling resources. That’s enough of a reason for many people (me included!) to always find beauty in reclaimed wood decor and interiors.
It brings life and warmth to transitional, contemporary, and modern interiors. Restoration Hardware’s new modern line is being driven by their prediction of interiors to shift into more modern, minimalistic designs. I love this look, but if not done right I also find it to be very cold. Using natural elements like reclaimed wood is the solution to this problem, and many modern home decor lines have integrated the reclaimed wood look into their designs which brings a much needed warmth and natural element to minimalistic interiors.
Reclaimed wood can cover a huge array of styles and items. Dark, light, stained, painted, untreated…reclaimed wood can take on many different looks in a vast array of furniture, flooring, cabinetry, walls, etc. It also can be used for many different styles- from traditional to contemporary. Therefore it’s not so much the reclaimed wood that has the possibility of going out of style, but the way it’s being used. And like I said before, as long as you still love it, you needn’t worry about the style being on-point with current trends anyhow.
